About Us

PTT was founded in Old Jetty Road, Penang in 1977 by Mr Ng Ee Beng, Mr Ng Ewe Kean and Mr Ng Wui Heong. The father and sons strived through decades to establish the wholesale business into one of the pioneers in the industry. The humble beginning has indeed become the best and only motivation for PTT to improve continuously. Throughout the decades, the Company has established trusting relationships with the business partners and customers, with great enthusiasm and extensive knowledge in the industry, in order to provide products with freshness and top quality.

Our History

1st Jan 1977

Established Ping Thye Trading in rented office at Old Jetty Road, Butterworth, Penang.

Started trading of red beans, green beans, tamarins and ground nuts between Penang (槟城) and Thailand (泰国), where Ping Thye Trading 槟泰贸易 originates its company name.
1979

Expanded into trading of onions to increase product selection.
1981

Successfully registered Syarikat Ping Thye Trading Co. (PG) Sdn Bhd (aka Private Limited Company)
1988

Acquired (30,000 sqft) new warehouse at Chain Ferry, Butterworth, Penang to increase storage capacity.
1990

Expanded business into Port Klang, the largest port in Malaysia, to serve customers based in Central and Southern region of Malaysia.
2005

Acquired (2.2 acre) land in Port Klang to build second warehouse with total storage capacity of (30,000 sqft) including cold storage capacity of (10,000 sqft)
4th August 2012

Opening of Port Klang warehouse

Set up Syarikat Ping Thye Trading Co. (PG) Sdn Bhd Port Klang branch office
2017

Acquired 2 shop lots in Villa Tanjung, Butterworth, Penang as Syarikat Ping Thye Trading Co. (PG) Sdn Bhd Headquarter.
